Robert DeValentino
Independent Chairman of the Board
Mr. Robert J. DeValentino is Independent Chairman of the Board of WVT Communications Group. He has been Chairman of the Board since 2009; President of Orange Regional Medical Center Foundation from 1998 to 2007 (retired); Eastern Region Communications Manager, Citizens Telecom from 1995 to 1998; District Manager, Middletown, New York for Contel NY, GTE & Citizens Telecom from 1989 to 1995; Director of Network Services, Contel, Central Region, St. Louis, Missouri from 1985 to1989; past director and initial investor in the Community Bank of Orange (Greater Hudson Bank). Mr. DeValentino has also served on the boards of several community organizations and participated in various philanthropic endeavors and economic development initiatives in the Greater Hudson Valley. In addition to his professional experience, Mr. DeValentino has participated in company-sponsored financial and management seminars throughout his career.
Jeffrey Alario
Independent Director
Mr. Jeffrey D. Alario is Independent Director of WVT Communications Group, since 2006. He has been Managing Member of Alario & Associates, CPAS PLLC, an auditing, financial reporting, tax compliance, and planning firm, since 2000; Chief Financial Officer of Person-to-Person Marketing LLC, a telemarketing firm, from 1996 through 2009. Mr. Alario also serves on the board of several not-for-profit organizations. Mr. Alario holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
Duane W. Albro
President, CEO & Director
Duane Albro joined WVT Communications in May 2007 as the President and CEO. Prior to that, he was President and CEO of Refinish LP, a privately held company in the cellular phone refurbishing business. He has extensive experience at all levels in the telecommunications and cable TV industry including having served in senior executive positions as Operations Vice President at Cablevision, a metro-NY cable operator; President and COO of Net2000 Communications, a northeast US-based telecommunications service provider; Operations Vice President at Bell Atlantic-New York, a predecessor company to Verizon; and Group Vice President at Nynex-New York, also a predecessor company to Verizon. He has also provided strategic consulting services to private equity investors.
Duane has been active in supporting the positive impact of telecommunications used in education, having served on a White House National Advisory Council on Technology in Education and provided testimony to the U. S. Congress on the benefits of technology used in education. He has also served on the Boards of New York Medical College, New York Institute of Technology, Empire State College and Purchase College. Duane has demonstrated his commitment to workforce issues as the founder, Chairman and President of the Long Island Works Coalition, a major non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the available workforce for technology industries. He has also demonstrated support for communities with personal philanthropic grants that provide funds for the use of technology to improve human services, education and business development. Currently, Duane serves on the board of the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor, the Warwick Development Coalition, the Orange County Chamber of Commerce and the Orange County Partnership.
Duane is a member of American Mensa Society and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an MBA from New York Institute of Technology. He has also completed Executive Management Programs at the University of Virginia – Darden School and the University of Pennsylvania - Wharton School.
David Cuthbert
Chief Operating Officer - WVT, President - Alteva & USA Datanet
David Cuthbert was appointed Chief Operating Officer at WVT Communications Group in August 2011 and elected to the company’s Board of Directors in December 2011. He was also appointed President – USA Datanet in August 2011 and continues to hold the title of President – Alteva from his prior company. In his current position, he has responsibility for all daily operations of WVT Communications Group and its subsidiaries, Alteva and USA Datanet. Mr. Cuthbert has 14 years of broad operational management and leadership experience. He joined Alteva in 2006 as the Director of Operations and in August 2010 rose to the position of President and CEO. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and a former Naval Special Operations Officer. In this capacity, he led underwater and land bomb disposal teams domestically and abroad. In 2003, Mr. Cuthbert was assigned leadership responsibility for the Navy's leading nuclear weapon casualty response detachment. His process innovation and mission accomplishment record earned him several high level unit and individual awards for leadership. Mr. Cuthbert is active in groups advocating cloud-based unified communications solutions and is a founding member of “The Captains”, a Naval Academy networking group focused on professional development, peer mentorship, and social responsibility. David also serves on the Board of Trustees for the United States Naval Academy Foundation.
Douglas Benedict
Independent Director
Mr. Douglas B. Benedict is Independent Director of WVT Communications Group, since November 2007. He has been Managing Director of MTN Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on smaller middle-market opportunities. Prior to that, from 2001 to 2008, Mr. Benedict served as Senior Vice President of Business Development for Cendant Corporation and Lockton Companies. Prior to 2001, he spent 15 years as an investment banker in New York and London, primarily with Citigroup, Bank of America and Legg Mason, specifically focusing on financial institutions, telecommunications and technology companies. Mr. Benedict also serves as Managing Principal of Regent Advisors LLC, a private strategic and business consulting firm. Mr. Benedict holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Harvard University and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Kelly Bloss
Independent Director
Kelly Bloss launched Knowledge Transfer Group, Inc., a boutique, woman-owned management consulting firm, in 2000. She is a seasoned entrepreneur and proven business executive. Her work remains at the leading edge of the changes permeating the highly complex industries of healthcare, financial services, manufacturing and telecommunications. Creating an exceptional record of accomplishment, she is an expert in delivering strategic business solutions that drive revenue growth and cost management.
She currently serves as Director for WVT Communications Group, a NASDAQ traded firm; she chairs the Governance and Nominating Committee and serves on the Compensation Committee.
Kelly led the history-making start-up of Verizon’s Long Distance and delivered 1M new customers and revenues that reached $200 million by the end of year one. She has extensive merger planning and implementation experience.
Kelly received an MS in Telecommunications and Computing Management from Polytechnic University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Union College. She has completed numerous executive education programs in financial management, leadership and strategic marketing at The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, The University of Virginia Darden School and The Harvard Business School.
Douglas Mello
Independent Director
Mr. Douglas J. Mello is Independent Director of WVT Communications Group, since 2006. He has been Founder and President of DJM Advisory Services, Inc., a telecommunications advisory services firm, since 1999; President, Large Business Sales, North for Bell Atlantic Corporation, 1996 to 1999. Mr. Mello also held various senior executive positions with NYNEX Corporation prior to 1996. Mr. Mello holds a degree in History and Economics from Boston College (College of Arts and Sciences) and a degree in Advanced Management Development from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. =
